Time Management
(30% of Project Grade)


“A” grade:

    • Your machine is completed on time.
    • Your group meets all the intermediate due dates.
    • Your group always comes to class prepared and uses all of each work day to work on the actual construction.
    • When faced with a challenge, your group uses what they have learned in class to solve the problem quickly and efficiently.
    • Your group stays on task throughout the machine presentation - including the clean-up at the end of the event.

“B” grade:

    • Your machine is completed on time.
    • Your group meets all the intermediate due dates.
    • Your group always comes to class prepared and uses most of each work day to work on the actual construction.
    • When faced with a challenge, your group uses some systematic process to find a solution.
    • Your group stays until the very end of the presentation - including the clean-up.

“C” grade:

    • Your machine is completed on time.
    • Your group meets most of the intermediate due dates.
    • Occasionally your group does not come to class prepared or wastes time during work days.
    • When faced with a challenge, your group does not have any specific plan for finding a solution but simply makes random changes in hopes of improving the outcome.
    • Your group does not follow instructions on presentation day, resulting in the unnecessary delay of a multi-group demonstration of the machine.

“D” grade:

    • Your machine is not completed on time.
    • Your group does not meet most of the intermediate due dates.
    • Your group is frequently unprepared for class or wastes a lot of class time.
    • Your group leaves any part of your machine anywhere other that the library during Spring Break.
    • Your group does not remove the machine within two days after the presentation.
    • Members of your group wonder off or are otherwise unaccounted-for during the preparations for the multi-group demonstration of the machine or the demonstration itself.

“F” grade:

    • Your machine is not completed by the due date.
    • Your group does not meet any of the intermediate due dates.
    • Your group is usually unprepared for class and wastes a lot of class time.
    • Your group does not present their machine.
